What would a normal day look like for someone like that?
So here it is.
A totally fictional (but emotionally accurate) day in the life of me… as a duchess.
☕ 7:00 AM — Rise, but make it regal
The morning sun filters through velvet drapes. A butler you definitely didn’t hire brings you tea in a porcelain cup. You sip dramatically while staring out the window, plotting absolutely nothing, just for vibes.
📜 8:30 AM — Reading letters (aka texts)
You read correspondence from suitors, cousins, and that one person who owes you money. Or maybe it's your daughter asking for a ride. Same difference. You respond in full sentences, because duchesses do not use emojis. Except 🐎.
🖌️ 10:00 AM — Sitting for a portrait

🫖 1:00 PM — A very formal lunch… alone
You dine at your desk with the elegance of a woman who once hosted a ball for 200. Today it's leftovers. But you eat them with silverware, and that's what matters.
💌 3:00 PM — Dealing with affairs (of state… or laundry)
You manage affairs of great consequence. Sorting socks. Replying to emails. Scheduling dentist appointments. It’s all politics, in a way.
🎭 7:30 PM — Evening glamour
The day ends in velvet robes, soft lighting, and the kind of drama only vintage portraits (or Netflix period dramas) can offer. You toast the ancestors. Or maybe just the dog. Either way, you are art.
